In addition to its
timber operations the company has continued to operate Gunns Mitre
10 hardware and building supplies, now significantly expanded and
operating through six major stores in Northern Tasmania. These stores
provide a complete range of builders, handyman supplies, timber, homewares
and electrical goods. The Group's building contracting company, Hinman Wright and Manser, is Launceston's largest builder carrying on the tradition of J & T Gunn 100 years ago. Hinman Wright and Manser have constructed many major works including commercial buildings, schools and sewerage treatment plants throughout the State. Gunns Plantations Ltd is a division of Gunns Limited and offers investment in growing timber plantations and grapes to the public via the release of an annual prospectus for its Woodlot Projects. In addition to raising funding from the Prospectus, Gunns also establishes plantations in its own right (100% funded) and also in joint ventures with several of its major Japanese customers. Gunns export extensively to overseas markets selling a wide range of timber products and is well recognized worldwide. Tamar Ridge Wines is a division of Gunns Limited .
