Gunns AGM provides Bell Bay Pulp Mill update
30 October 2008
Integrated forest products company Gunns Limited today said the proposed Bell Bay Pulp mill was in a "ready status" to commence construction once financing is secure.
Gunns Chairman John Gay told the company's Annual General Meeting in Launceston that the mill was awaiting final clearance on environmental modules before the Federal Government and construction could begin immediately on financial close. The modules approved so far allow for preliminary construction work.
"The company is continuing to progress discussions with potential joint venture partners for the mill. The discussions to date have been positive with a significant exchange of information and consideration of key relationship issues," Mr Gay told the meeting.
"The introduction of a joint venture partner provides an opportunity to bring both capital and substantial operational experience to the project"....
